After losing her beloved Sadie unexpectedly on January 17, 2009, Rita took to her bed for a week in deep grief and despair. It is a sad but inevitable fact that one day we will have to say good bye to our beloved cat children, sometimes much sooner than we would have liked.

Our deep attachment to our pets often evokes a grief that is much deeper than what we feel when we lose a member of our human family.
